The New CV Landscape: Built for AI, Not Humans

I looked at the state of the job market and I just said, okay. That means I need a full comprehensive overview that is no longer meant for humans but for AIs. Where the AI can get all the info and work from there.

I accepted that: Fine, I'll do a data blob at the end of my CV, and then AI can do its thing with it.

Fine is doing a lot of work in that sentence. Because what I was accepting was that the craft I'd built up around writing CVs, the whole skill of knowing what to leave out, of trimming a career down to two pages that a tired recruiter could scan in forty seconds, of choosing the right verb and the right bullet point and the right order, all of that had become the wrong skill. Not useless, not bad, just aimed at a reader who wasn't the one deciding anymore.

The reader deciding now doesn't get tired, they don't skim. They Don't fill in gaps from their own experience, bringing twenty years of industry context while reading the page. It just reads what's there and ranks it.

So that means Everything needs tot be there? But what about the human who comes next?

I'm not saying it's a different document entirely. But we do need to be ready for not only the reader, but also for the parser. Shifting from curated to a focus on painfully complete. We can no longer offer only two pages of highlights but we need to include the full record, structured in a way a machine can actually use.

I started thinking about it as two separate things. There's the CV, the human one, the two pages they bring to the interview or hand someone at a meetup. What your future colleagues read after the filter has already let you through.

And then there's the data, the complete version. Everything I've done, every project, every stack, every quantified outcome, every role, every skill, all of it in a format that doesn't care about page count or visual hierarchy or whether the hiring manager will get bored on page three. Because the thing reading it doesn't get bored, it just processes.

That's the thing I couldn't find anywhere. A tool that helped me build and maintain the complete version for me, so I didn't have to reconstruct it from memory every time I applied somewhere. A single source of truth that could be tailored, reformatted, spit out as a two-page CV for a human or a structured profile for an AI, depending on who was asking. Or both.

I couldn't find it because it didn't exist. So I started building it.

That's what SmartCVWriter is. Not a CV builder. A complete profile that becomes whatever the reader needs it to be.
